As CEO, Jeff directs Durango’s strategic vision and corporate culture. He built a successful geotechnical consultancy (Swanson Consulting) from the ground-up and transitioned this business into a growing oil and gas E&P (Durango Resources) specializing in the design and implementation of field redevelopment plans including infill drilling and waterflood / pressure maintenance applications.
An early technology adopter, he envisioned and helped create the first commercially available 3-D modeling technology in the industry by co-founding Stratamodel. This technology is a major industry tool today and is the basis for Schlumberger’s Petrel software. Later, he conceived, devised, and patented ReservoirGrail as a necessary technology to bring reservoir simulation capability to a broader market.
At Swanson Consulting, his broad experience in the E&P upstream business included managing large scale exploration and exploitation studies as well as management consulting in the documentation and valuation of oil and gas assets for over sixty different clients including major and national oil companies.
Jeff graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Business Administration.
With over 35 years of experience, Greg has a diverse set of technical and operational skills. He has led Durango’s operations for the last 15 years – overseeing drilling, completions, facilities, regulatory and daily production. Greg’s technical and operational expertise has enabled the company to generate millions of dollars of organic reserves growth through drilling new wells and recompleting old wells. All of this growth was achieved extremely efficiently as evidenced by Durango’s low F&D cost.
With Swanson Consulting and Pennzoil, Greg completed a multitude of integrated geoscience studies on a variety of reservoirs ranging from exploration in the Williston Basin to micro-stratigraphic field studies in South Texas. The results from these studies have enabled many companies to add millions of dollars of reserves. Furthermore, Greg is skilled in the design and implementation of advanced technology and is co-author of the ReservoirGrail and SandGrail patents.
Greg graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Geology, a B.S. in Economics, and an M.S. in Geology.
Stephen is the primary operations engineer at Durango where he designs and implements development projects and optimizes existing assets. Stephen draws on his operations experience at Encana and ConocoPhillips to ensure that Durango’s drilling, completions, and facilities plans are accomplished at or below AFE in a timely and safe manner.
Prior to his current role, Stephen worked as a senior drilling Engineer at ConocoPhillips where he was the managing engineer for 9 Eagle Ford wells. He spent a year in the field as a supervisor where he conducted operations for an H&P Flex 3 rig, led safety meetings, and managed project logistics.
At Encana, he participated in a challenging rotational program allowing him to gain valuable experience as a drilling engineer, reservoir engineer, and facilities engineer. Stephen oversaw the construction of over 220 Haynesville well site facilities, scheduled the drilling of 18 lease retention wells, and managed the drilling of 10 Eaglebine wells.
Stephen graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
As a geologist for Durango, Charles is responsible for interpretation of petrophysical, production, and 3D seismic data to create geologic maps, cross-sections, and to perform reservoir simulation. Using ReservoirGrail, Charles is able to model new and historical reservoirs to locate and quantify remaining present-day primary and secondary hydrocarbons, and design the most efficient plan for exploitation. These tasks are performed on current acreage, on potential acquisitions, and on a consulting basis.
Charles graduated from The University of Texas with a B.S. in Geology and from the University of Houston with an M.B.A and a M.S. in Geology.
